About AGS Zimbabwe
Publicerad 01/07/2009 03:52 pm av Zimbabwe idagAfrica Groups of Sweden (AGS) started partnering organizations in Zimbabwe in 1987. The operations have grown to cover eight civil society partners working in three main areas: Global justice – democracy and people participation; Community empowerment – livelihoods; and HIV/AIDS. The partner organizations have a wide national coverage from Harare, Bulawayo to rural communities of Chiredzi in Masvingo Province as well as Kezi and Gwanda in Matabeleland South Province. The development portfolio combines grassroots level/community based organizations with national umbrella organizations to facilitate multi-level lobby and advocacy.
AGS Zimbabwe operates under an agreement with the Government of Zimbabwe although its activities are independent of the government.
In January 2010 the AGS office was relocated to Bulawayo.
